Button colour options
Six ways to colour the buttons, built from the food colour notes you shared and the colours the site already uses: warm ivory, olive green, turmeric and terracotta, with charcoal text. Chosen 24 Oct 2026: Chilli to saffron, now on the site.
The thinking behind them
- Red for the main actionRed stirs the appetite, so it suits the one step that matters most on a page, such as Add to cart or Check out. Used once per screen, it stays calm.
- Orange as the partnerOrange is red and yellow together, and the site already has turmeric. It suits second actions and highlights.
- Go easy on brownsBrowns feel warm and wholesome, but the earthy look is overused in specialty food, so browns stay in the background, not on buttons.
- Readable for everyoneEvery button text passes the AA contrast level (4.5:1). The numbers are shown under each option.
Options
Each option shows the main button, the second button and the quiet button, on the plain page and on two of the coloured panels.
